Congratulations to Allan Gordon: MASc Thesis now online

Congratulations to Allan Gordon from U of Guelph on the completion of his Masters of Applied Science Thesis: Tools and Strategies to Address Uncertainties and Complexities of Infrastructure Design in Remote Northern Canadian Communities. Allan worked under the supervision of Dr.Farahbakhsh from U of Guelph and will continue to work on IHACC related projects in the Canadian Arctic in 2014-2015.

IHACC theses on the Observatorio de Cambio Climatico Website

Jahir Anicama and Mya Sherman's Masters Theses were recently put up on the Observatorio de Cambio Climatico Website, which is part of the Peruvian Center for Social Studies (Centro Peruano de Estudios Sociales-CEPES). The CEPES is a knowledge sharing platform oriented towards climate change initiatives, particularly in rural Peru. To learn more about CEPES click here

Fifth annual Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) conference - May 10-12 2014, Washington, DC

Alejandra Bussalleu presented her work at the 5th Annual CUGH, where the theme of the conference was "Universities 2.0: Advancing Global Health in the Post-Millenium Development Goals Era". She presented a her poster Health and Environment : How does Climate Change Affect Our Health? A Case Study from the Peruvian Amazon, along with the poster The Use of Formal and Traditional Health Care in Remote Indigenous Communities: A Comparison of two Shawi Communities in the Peruvian Amazon

Result Dissemination - Peru

Mya Sherman is currently in Peru to share the results from her thesisMyaShernan_Geography_finalthesis. She will be presenting her results to the Shipibo community of Panaillo as well as local institutions in Yarinacocha, Pucallpa and Lima. She will be sharing with various knowledge-users the pamphlets that were created in collaboration with the IHACC team, which can be found here
